Obi Toppin Rookie Outlook
4 years agoNew York Knicks forward Obi Toppin should have a strong rookie campaign, as long as the Knicks can find enough minutes for him. New York still has a lot of options at the forward position, though Toppin's upside should mean he sees the floor more than players like Kevin Knox. Toppin was an elite scorer at Dayton, shooting over 60 percent from the floor in both of his seasons there. Last year, he averaged 20 points per game. He's an explosive athlete who'll be hard to stop when he gets heading towards the basket. There are defensive concerns though, and those issues could impact his playing time if the Knicks wind up competing for a playoff spot. But considering the Knicks are the Knicks, that shouldn't be too much of a concern for fantasy managers, even if Toppin getting steals and blocks could be.
