Nolan Jones Picking Things Up In June
3 years agoCleveland Indians third baseman Nolan Jones, the No. 26 prospect in baseball, went 2-for-4 with a double, a home run and four RBI for Triple-A Columbus on Sunday. Jones is hitting just .222 through 46 games on the year, but he's reached base in nine of his last 11 games and has a .368 on-base percentage in June. Cleveland's top prospect has a .355 overall on-base percentage with four home runs, 25 runs scored, 21 RBI and five stolen bases in 186 plate appearances in 2021. The left-handed hitter shows nice patience at the plate and has above-average power that plays to all fields. Jones' long left-handed stroke can lead to plenty of strikeouts (59), but he makes up for it with his power and on-base skills. The 23-year-old will need to improve against lefties to become an everyday player at the next level.
