Nolan Gorman Not Starting Saturday
2 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals infielder Nolan Gorman isn't in the starting lineup for Saturday's contest against the Cincinnati Reds. Gorman will take a seat after going 1-for-4 with his 15th homer of the year and three strikeouts in Friday's 7-4 victory over Cincinnati. The 23-year-old strikes out at a high rate, although he's lowered it from last season while also displaying impressive power from the left side of the plate. He should remain a regular contributor for St. Louis' lineup. Gorman is currently hitting .264 (52-for-197) with 10 doubles, 15 homers, 46 RBI, four stolen bases and 26 runs scored in 58 games. Brendan Donovan is at second base and batting eighth, while Luken Baker is serving as the designated hitter and batting cleanup on Saturday against Reds rookie left-hander Andrew Abbott.
