Nolan Arenado Leaves With Lower-Back Tightness
1 year agoSt. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado (back) left Friday night's game early against the Philadelphia Phillies due to lower-back tightness. Before leaving prematurely, Arenado went hitless in three at-bats to drop his season average to .281. He was replaced at the hot corner by Taylor Motter, who shifted over from second base. Fantasy managers should consider Arenado day-to-day for now, but there's a good chance he won't be in Saturday's lineup. The 32-year-old eight-time All-Star came into Friday's contest hitting .283/.331/.506 with an .838 OPS, 26 home runs, 87 RBI and 60 runs scored in 519 plate appearances and 122 games. If Arenado is forced to miss time, Motter will likely remain in the everyday lineup for St. Louis.
