The Vegas Golden Knights traded forward Nikita Gusev to the New Jersey Devils in exchange for a 2020 third-round draft pick and a second-round selection in the 2021 draft. Gusev, a restricted free-agent at the time, flourished while playing in his home country in the Kontinental Hockey League last season. En route to being named league MVP, the 27-year-old posted 82 points (17 goals, 65 assists) in 62 regular season games. Known for his playmaking ability, Gusev recorded 215 points (64 goals, 151 assists) in 173 games (1.32 points-per-game) over his past three seasons in the KHL. After coming to terms with the Devils on a two-year, $9 million contract shortly after the trade, the Russian talent should figure into an underrated top-six forward group that includes Taylor Hall, Kyle Palmieri, Nico Hischier and Jack Hughes.--Chase Davis - RotoBaller
