New Jersey Devils center Nico Hischier has suffered a hamstring injury and will be re-evaluated in 10 days. The Devils captain wasn't able to complete Monday's clash against Montreal because of the ailment and further tests have revealed that he'll need some time to rest. Hamstring strains usually take a couple of weeks to heal, so it's possible that Hischier will be fine for the season opener against Philadelphia on Oct. 13, and Devils head coach Lindy Ruff has even suggested that the star center might still get a chance to soak in some further preseason action. Hischier had a career year with 60 points in 70 games last season and he should be able to improve his numbers even more in 2022-23 if he avoids serious injury.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
