Nick Madrigal Activated Off Injured List Tuesday
3 years agoThe Chicago Cubs have activated second baseman Nick Madrigal (back) from the 10-day injured list. He will be taking the roster spot of outfielder Seiya Suzuki (finger), who landed on the 10-day injured list on Sunday. Madrigal had been on the injured list since May 10 due to back tightness. Prior to the injury, he slashed .203/.250/.241 over 23 games. The 25-year-old has an impressive .293 batting average over 106 MLB games, but it's come along with only four stolen bases and very little power (two homers, .372 slugging percentage), which makes him tough to roster in most fantasy formats. He is not in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers. Andrelton Simmons will be covering the keystone for the game.
