2 years agoColumbus Blue Jackets defenseman Nick Blankenburg will sit out Friday's action against the Canucks with an upper-body injury. He is considered day-to-day with the injury, but Blankenburg could miss several games, with the Blue Jackets also playing on Saturday. Injuries have limited the 24-year-old to just 15 appearances this season. Blankenburg has totaled seven points, 24 shots, 25 hits and 25 blocks in the limited action. Gavin Bayreuther will enter the lineup in his absence, making his first appearance since Jan. 12. He has only a marginal role on the team and should remain on the waiver wire in fantasy hockey.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
