Nelson Rada, Caden Dana Get Spring Training Invites
10 months agoLos Angeles Angels outfielder Nelson Rada and pitcher Caden Dana are among the team's non-roster invites for major-league spring training this year. Rada, 18, was signed for $1.8 million in January of 2022 as an international free agent from Venezuela when he was just 16. The left-handed hitter slashed .276/.396/.346 with two home runs, 48 RBI, 55 stolen bases and 94 runs scored in 115 games at Single-A Inland Empire in 2023. He'll look to continue his development in the minors for the Halos in 2024. Dana, 20, is one of the team's top pitching prospects and went 3-5 with a 3.56 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, 30 walks and 89 strikeouts with Inland Empire and High-A Tri-City last year over 14 starts (68 1/3 innings). The young right-hander was the team's 11th-round pick in 2022.
