Nationals Acquire Hunter Strickland From M's

The Washington Nationals acquired relief pitcher Hunter Strickland from the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday in exchange for pitcher Aaron Fletcher, according to a source. Strickland opened the year as Seattle's closer but was quickly injured and has an 8.10 ERA, 0.60 WHIP, only two saves and three strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings in 2019. He'll strictly be a setup man in D.C. and won't have any fantasy appeal. The Nats were busy adding to their bullpen ahead of closer Sean Doolittle at the deadline, also adding relievers Daniel Hudson and Roenis Elias.
