Colorado Avalanche center Nathan MacKinnon saw his fantastic home point streak end on Thursday in a 3-2 shootout loss against the Rangers. The Avalanche superstar had collected at least one point in all 35 home outings this season before the Rangers found a way to neutralize him. Casey Mittelstadt and Devon Toews scored Colorado's goals as MacKinnon came up empty-handed with five shots on goal in 27:53 of action. The 35-game run, during which MacKinnon recorded 29 goals and 77 points, is the second-longest home point streak in NHL history, behind only Wayne Gretzky's 40-game mark from 1988-89. MacKinnon likely won't be too upset by Thursday's events, as he's had a phenomenal run with the Avalanche this season, recording a career-high 123 points (45 goals, 78 assists) in 73 games.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
