Nathan Eovaldi Going on 15-Day Injured List
Nathan Eovaldi (triceps) on the 15-day injured list on Sunday with a right-triceps injury and are calling up right-hander Codi Heuer from the minors in a corresponding move. Additionally, the club designated catcher Tucker Barnhart for assignment. The Rangers were hoping to just push Eovaldi back after he experienced fatigue in his triceps muscle after his last outing on Tuesday, but the 35-year-old veteran will now have to miss at least the next two weeks. Eovaldi doesn't have any structural damage in his right arm, though, so the team is optimistic he'll be ready to return when he's eligible in mid-June. In the meantime, rookie right-hander Kumar Rocker (shoulder) figures to come off the IL and start in Eovaldi's place on Wednesday against the Tampa Bay Rays. Eovaldi has been strong for Texas so far in 2025 and should be stashed in fantasy leagues while he's on the shelf.
