Nate Pearson To Throw Bullpen On Saturday
4 years agoToronto Blue Jays injured starter Nate Pearson (groin) is set to throw a bullpen session on Saturday, according to manager Charlie Montoyo. The right-hander has thrown just one inning this spring due to a groin injury. Montoyo acknowledged that Pearson will not be ready to pitch out of the starting rotation at the beginning of April, but said it's possible that he could pitch out of the bullpen while building up his stamina. Pearson made five big-league appearances in 2020 but struggled with an injury and posted a 6.00 ERA. The right-hander is ranked by RotoBaller as the second-best starting pitcher prospect in dynasty leagues due to his ability to miss bats with his 100 mph fastball.
