Nate Lowe Being Called Up To Rays
The Tampa Bay Rays are calling up first baseman Nate Lowe on Monday to join the team in Kansas City. In 90 plate appearances this year for Triple-A Durham, Lowe slashed .300/.444/.543 with three home runs, 16 runs, 14 RBI and one stolen base. He also won minor league player of the year in 2018, hitting .330/.416/.568 with 27 home runs across three levels. Christian Arroyo will be optioned back to the minors in a corresponding move. With the injuries the Rays have dealt with in the infield, the left-handed hitting Lowe should see playing time at first base and designated hitter. He is a legitimate power-hitting prospect that should be an option in most mixed leagues.
