Montez Sweat Could Use Some Help In Chicago
10 months agoMost people will be watching to see what the Chicago Bears do at quarterback this offseason, but The Athletic's Kevin Fishbain thinks the team also needs to add pass-rush help opposite Montez Sweat. Sweat made the Pro Bowl in 2023 and was an instant impact player for the Bears after they acquired him from the Washington Commanders, as he helped to lift their defense in the second half of the season. However, none of the Bears' other defensive linemen had more than four sacks and they still ranked last in the NFL in sacks per pass. DeMarcus Walker came on strong down the stretch, but Chicago would be better off if he was the team's third-best pass-rusher in 2024, which would keep opposing offenses from double-teaming Sweat.
