Mitch Trubisky 2018 Outlook: Nowhere to Go But Up
6 years agoChicago Bears quarterback Mitch Trubisky is looking to improve on his underwhelming rookie season where he threw for just 2,193 yards and seven touchdown passes in 12 games. Those numbers resulted in him closing out the year as the 37th ranked quarterback in fantasy points per game. Luckily, the Bears are giving him every opportunity to succeed in 2018 after adding an impressive trio of pass catchers in Allen Robinson, Anthony Miller, and Trey Burton. Add in the fact that the second year pro has a full off-season under his belt to get comfortable in Matt Nagy’s offense and you can see why a significant spike in production is likely. This situation seems similar to Carson Wentz’s leap from year one to year two when considering the flashes both players showed in their rookie campaigns, and the significant off-season acquisitions in the following year. Despite his intriguing upside, the 23-year-old quarterback is nothing more than a QB2 heading into this season. Trubisky has an ADP of the 14th round, 168th overall, and an ECR of QB21.
