Mitchell Marner Reaches 60 Points With Wednesday's Goal
2 years agoToronto Maple Leafs right wing Mitchell Marner reached the 60-point plateau for the season when he scored his 19th goal of the campaign in Wednesday's 5-2 loss to Boston. He struck on the power play to tie things at one, with goalie Ilya Samsonov and Morgan Rielly setting him up. It was a horrible night for Marner in even-strength situations, though, as he finished with a minus-four rating in 19:34 of ice time. The star winger became the fourth player in Maple Leafs history to record at least seven 60-point seasons. He reached the mark in only his 52nd game, so Marner is having a very productive time on Toronto's first line. He is enjoying home outings in particular, having gone scoreless just twice in 29 games at the Scotiabank Arena.
