Mitch Trubisky Dealing With Hip Pointer
5 years agoChicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy said that quarterback Mitch Trubisky (hip) is dealing with "a right hip pointer" that he suffered in the Sunday night loss to the Rams. Trubisky was injured at the end of the second quarter and was then benched before the final drive with the team trailing. The third-year QB has taken a step back in 2019 under Nagy, going 176-for-282 (62.4 percent) for 1,580 yards, nine touchdowns and four interceptions in nine games played. He's yet to go over 253 yards passing in a game this year. His injury doesn't sound serious, but Trubisky will be a low-level QB2 in Week 12 if he plays, despite the good matchup against the Giants. If Trubisky looks bad again, backup Chase Daniel might take over the gig to close out the year.
