Mitch Keller May Start Wednesday For Pirates
6 years agoPittsburgh Pirates GM Neal Huntington told a local radio show that Mitch Keller is one of their options to start Wednesday versus the Braves. Keller is one of the top pitching prospects in baseball and has shined in Triple-A with a 5-1 record, 3.10 ERA and 74 strikeouts in 58.0 IP. He got a start for the Bucs on May 27 against the Reds but only lasted four innings giving up six earned runs. He did manage to strikeout seven on the day, showing some signs that he belongs in the majors. The 23-year-old has had some command issues throughout his minor league tenure but figures to be an impact arm at some point for the Pirates. Keller is a risky streaming option if does get the nod Wednesday and doesn't need to be added in redraft leagues just yet.
