Minnesota Twins catcher Mitch Garver said he realized just how much his swing was affected by injury last season. Garver followed up his 2019 breakout campaign with a down season in 2020, slashing just .167/.247/.264, as he missed 27 games due to a right intercostal strain. However, the 30-year-old noted that he compensated for his swing last season due to the injury, so he's healthy and will go back to his usual approach at the dish. The underlying numbers also support a potential return to form for Garver, whose .294 BABIP far eclipsed his batting average- and his 92.4 MPH average exit velocity would have placed in the top-15 of sluggers last season, so there is definitely some upside to be had in 2021. He's an option for those who wait to draft their backstop, though he won't catch as many games as others at his position with prospect Ryan Jeffers in the mix.--Tim Capurso
