Miles Sanders' Ankle Sprain Not That Serious?
3 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders (ankle) is believed to have suffered a low ankle sprain in the Week 7 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday. Sanders' injury looked much more serious, as he was carted off the field and never returned. Tests are still ongoing, so there is no firm word on whether he'll miss any time or how long he might be sidelined, but the good news is that it looks like Sanders isn't dealing with a long-term injury. The 24-year-old had six carries for 30 yards and also caught one pass for minus-three yards before leaving the contest against Las Vegas. Consider him highly questionable for Week 8 against the Detroit Lions in a great matchup for Philly's ground game. If Sanders can't go, rookie Kenneth Gainwell and Boston Scott should split backfield duties, with Scott likely working more on early downs and Gainwell in obvious passing situations.
