Mikko Rantanen Picks Up Three Points Against Calgary
2 years agoColorado Avalanche forward Mikko Rantanen led the charge in Wednesday's 4-1 victory over Calgary, recording two goals and an assist. He had two points in the first period and iced the game inside the final minute with his 31st goal of the season. Playing in only his 43rd game, Rantanen became the fastest Avalanche player to reach 30 goals in a season, beating Joe Sakic's record of 44 games set during the team's first campaign in 1995-96. The Finnish star has also picked up 25 assists during another very productive campaign. Colorado's forwards group has had all kinds of injury troubles, but Rantanen has so far played in every game, and should it remain so, he will have a great chance of hitting 100 points for the season for the first time in his career.
