Edmonton Oilers goaltender Mike Smith (lower body) was placed on Injured Reserve on Wednesday and will miss the rest of the week. The move is retroactive to Oct. 19 when Smith exited a 6-5 win over Anaheim. He had a tough time in the contest, giving up four goals on 15 saves, but Mikko Koskinen came in to save the day. The Oilers face a back-to-back set starting with Thursday's visit to Arizona and it wouldn't be surprising to see Koskinen start both games. Stuart Skinner has been called up from the minors to serve as his backup.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
