Mike Evans to Have MRI, Could Have Low-Grade Hamstring Injury
Mike Evans (hamstring) will have an MRI exam on Tuesday, according to Brianna Dix of Buccaneers.com. As of now, Bowles said it seems to be a low-grade injury, but the staff will know on Tuesday if Evans will have to miss time. It sounds like the 32-year-old future Hall of Famer might have avoided a serious injury in Sunday's win over the New York Jets, but he could still be forced to miss a Week 4 showdown against the Philadelphia Eagles. The good news for Tampa is that they could get Chris Godwin back for the first time since he dislocated his ankle in Week 7 of last year. If Evans cannot play in Week 4, rookie first-rounder Emeka Egbuka and Sterling Shepard could be Tampa's top two wideouts, with the Bucs likely easing Godwin back in if he's active.
