Michael Wilson 2023 Outlook: Opportunity For Snaps With Hopkins Release?
2 years agoArizona Cardinals rookie wide receiver Michael Wilson looked buried on the Cardinals' depth chart behind DeAndre Hopkins, Marquise Brown, and Rondale Moore when he was selected by the team in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft. However, Hopkins was released after three seasons with the team, meaning Wilson could compete to be the starting X-receiver in 2023. Brown and Moore are both 180 pounds and under 5'10", so Wilson (6'2", 215 lbs) could add much-needed size to the Cardinals' WR group. Arizona might have one of the worst offenses in the NFL since Kyler Murray (knee) will miss a big chunk of the year, but if Wilson can get on the field, he'll be on the fantasy football radar in deep leagues. Moore has had plenty of injury struggles in college and in the NFL, so there's an outcome where Wilson is the team's WR2 for a stretch of games. Again, his upside will be mightily limited by a poor offense, so expectations should be tempered.
