Michael Mayer Makes One Catch In Preseason Debut

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Michael Mayer made his NFL preseason debut on Saturday night against the Rams, securing one catch on two targets for three yards. Mayer was overthrown by QB Brian Hoyer in the second quarter, leading to a pick-six for the Rams in an otherwise impressive showing for Las Vegas. Mayer has reportedly had a promising training camp and will look to contribute alongside fellow newcomer TE Austin Hooper for the Raiders this season. Temper expectations for Mayer, who should be drafted as a low-end TE2 to start the season.
