Mets Acquire Yohan Ramirez From White Sox
12 months agoThe New York Mets have acquired relief pitcher Yohan Ramirez from the Chicago White Sox in exchange for cash considerations. Ramirez was designated for assignment by the White Sox last week in order to clear a 40-man roster spot for the recently-signed Eric Fedde. The right-hander split the 2023 season between the White Sox and Pirates while working to a 4.23 ERA across 31 outings and 38 1/3 innings of work. He broke out with a tidy 2.61 ERA across 16 appearances with the Mariners in the COVID-shortened 2020 season and has gone on to post a 3.99 ERA across 102 career appearances. His 5.05 FIP and elevated 12.5% BB% don't bode well moving forward but his 58.4% ground-ball rate from this past season could help mitigate any regression.
