Melvin Gordon May Start Against Broncos
5 years agoLos Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon will "definitely" be a part of the team's game plan in Week 5 against the Broncos, and he could be the starter over Austin Ekeler, according to head coach Anthony Lynn. The Chargers "don't want to overdo it" with Gordon, but Lynn said he will surely have a role on Sunday in LA. "He's getting more work [in practice] this week, and he's definitely going to have a workload this week, but not too big," Lynn said. "I want to work him in, but I don't want to overdo it." Gordon was active in Week 4 against the Dolphins but didn't play a single snap. This backfield could be a 50-50 split this weekend, but both running backs are in play in fantasy with the Chargers beat up at the receiver position. Consider both Gordon and Ekeler RB2 options in this matchup.
