2 years agoTwo-time Pro Bowl running back Melvin Gordon III is expected to sign with the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad, according to a source. Gordon was released by the Denver Broncos last week, but he should be active soon and will give the Chiefs another weapon for the stretch run with Clyde Edwards-Helaire (ankle) on Injured Reserve. Gordon is no longer in his prime and has fumbling issues (five fumbles in 10 games this year), but he could be a weapon for the Chiefs' high-octane offense alongside rookie Isiah Pacheco and pass-catching back Jerick McKinnon to close out the 2022 season. The 29-year-old had 90 carries for 318 yards (3.5 yards per carry) and two touchdowns while adding 25 receptions on 32 targets for 223 yards in his 10 games with the Broncos this year.
