Melvin Gordon III Absent On Wednesday
3 years agoDenver Broncos running back Melvin Gordon III (leg) sat out of practice on Wednesday. Gordon was questionable heading into Week 4 against the Baltimore Ravens, but he ultimately played and had nine carries for 56 yards while catching two of four targets for 11 yards in the loss. He played one fewer snap than rookie Javonte Williams but carried the ball two more times and had one more target in the passing game. This continues to be a near-even timeshare between the two, with Gordon having the slight edge through four games. The 28-year-old is likely being rested before a Week 5 meeting with the Pittsburgh Steelers, but if Gordon was to miss time or be limited, Williams' stock would increase dramatically. If Gordon suits up Sunday, he'll continue to be an RB3/flex.
