Max Muncy to Take Live At-Bats in Arizona
Max Muncy (knee) will head to Arizona on Thursday to take live at-bats for a few days, according to Sonja Chen of MLB.com. After that, Muncy could potentially start a minor-league rehab assignment, per manager Dave Roberts. Muncy is currently on the 10-day injured list with a left-knee bone bruise, but the 34-year-old veteran has been recovering quickly and appears to be ahead of schedule. Barring a setback once he begins facing live pitching, it's possible that Muncy could come off the IL in early August to rejoin the big-league club. The left-handed slugger should be stashed in an IL spot in all fantasy baseball leagues while he heals. He was hitting .250 (64-for-256) with 13 homers, 55 RBI, 39 runs and four steals before his injury. Tommy Edman should continue to see most of the starts at the hot corner with both Muncy and Enrique Hernandez (elbow) on the IL.
