Max Homa Slipping In Form Heading To Royal Troon
5 months agoMax Homa had a disappointing finish at last week's Genesis Scottish Open, finishing T70 after shooting a three-under 67 in the first round. This adds to what has been an inconsistent season for him, with three consecutive tournaments where he either missed the cut or finished outside of the top 50. His last top-35 finish was back in May at the PGA Championship. Homa is now focusing on preparing for this week's The Open Championship at Royal Troon. This will be his fourth appearance at The Open Championship, with his best finish being a T10 last year. It's worth noting that over the past 12 months, Homa ranks in the 33rd percentile in greens in regulation percentage on approach shots from 150-200 yards in the fairway. This is important because Royal Troon has 101 bunkers, and finding one of these bunkers could be punishing for golfers. Although Homa has had some ups and downs this year, he has shown that he can compete on any given weekend. However, including him in DFS lineups this week will involve some risk.
