Matt McLain Records Two Hits Saturday
2 years agoCincinnati Reds rookie shortstop Matt McLain went 2-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 8-5 victory over Chicago Cubs. McLain's average on the season is now up to .333, and his OPS is .979. The 23-year-old is slashing .333/.423/.556 with two home runs, seven RBI, 12 runs, and six walks across 52 plate appearances in 2023. He won't stay hot forever, but the rookie sure is sensational at the dish right now. He occupies a prime lineup spot as the No. 2 hitter in the order, and Cincinnati is unlikely to move him around in the batting order while he's hitting like this. Fantasy managers should add McLain in all league formats.
