Matt Manning Throws Live BP Friday
2 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Matt Manning (foot) threw another live bullpen session on Friday and is scheduled to complete another live bullpen session next week as he continues to recover from a right-foot fracture that he suffered in April. The 25-year-old right-hander will be eligible to return from the injured list on June 12, but fantasy managers shouldn't be surprised if he's not ready by then. Since he last pitched in a game on April 11, Manning will most likely require a lengthy minor-league rehab assignment of at least a handful of starts. He made just two starts before his injury, allowing six runs on 12 hits (four homers surrendered) while walking three and fanning seven in 11 2/3 innings. Manning will have a place in the starting rotation waiting for him when he's fully healthy.
