Masyn Winn Returns From Illness
6 months agoSt. Louis Cardinals shortstop Masyn Winn (illness) is feeling better on Wednesday and is back in the starting lineup against the Miami Marlins and right-hander Yonny Chirinos, starting at shortstop and batting leadoff for the Red Birds. Winn was scratched from Tuesday's lineup with an illness but is feeling better a day later and should be returned to starting fantasy lineups. The 22-year-old former second-round pick in 2020 is excelling in his first full season as the team's starting shortstop, batting .295 (66-for-224) with four home runs, 12 doubles, three triples, 26 RBI, eight stolen bases, 17 walks, 49 strikeouts and 25 runs scored in 247 plate appearances over 65 games in his second big-league season. Winn doesn't have much power but has been a nice table-setter for St. Louis out of the leadoff spot. He's hitting .266 this month with two homers, eight RBI and one steal.
