1 year agoPittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said that quarterback Mason Rudolph will make a third straight start in Week 18 against the division-rival Baltimore Ravens, while also noting that Kenny Pickett's (ankle) health isn't in question. Rudolph looked good again in the 30-23 Week 17 win on the road in Seattle over the Seahawks on Sunday, going 18-for-24 for 274 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions. While it wasn't really all that notable from a fantasy perspective, the 28-year-old has now led the Steelers to two important wins in a row and will keep the starting gig for the regular season finale despite the fact that Pickett has recovered from ankle surgery. Pittsburgh will likely continue to lean on their ground game and defense, making Rudolph a low-end QB2 for fantasy managers in superflex leagues that will still be playing for something in Week 18.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

3 weeks agoFree-agent quarterback Mason Rudolph agreed to a two-year, $8 million deal with $4.5 million guaranteed to return to the Pittsburgh Steelers, sources told NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. Rudolph considered multiple offers, including re-signing with the Tennessee Titans, but he ultimately chose to return to Pittsburgh after playing for them from 2019-23. The Steelers took the 29-year-old in the third round (76th overall) in 2018 out of Oklahoma State. Rudolph ended up taking over for the struggling Will Levis in Tennessee last year and went 146-for-228 for 1,530 yards, nine touchdowns and nine interceptions in eight games (five starts). He's pretty much been a game manager in his five years in the NFL, and he'll represent insurance for Pittsburgh with Justin Fields leaving for the Jets and Russell Wilson unsettled on where he'll land. The Steelers likely signed Rudolph with the intention of him being a backup again.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

3 months agoTennessee Titans quarterback Mason Rudolph completed 7-of-9 pass attempts for 70 yards and ran the ball once for five yards in a 23-14 loss to the Houston Texans Sunday. Rudolph entered the game for Will Levis early in the second quarter after starting on the sidelines. In his three drives before returning to the bench, he led Tennessee to two field goals for their first six points of the game. In the future, Rudolph will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason. The Titans may look to the quarterback position with the first overall pick in April's draft, so Rudolph will have to hope that he's done enough this year to earn an NFL roster spot in 2025.--Ricky Maloney - RotoBaller

3 months agoTennessee Titans quarterback Mason Rudolph took over as quarterback in the second half as Will Levis took a seat. The Titans could only muster up three points in the first half as Levis completed three of his five throws for 31 yards and was sacked once. Both quarterbacks have posted eerily similar stats this year, but Levis has started in one more win over Rudolph. They aren't playing for anything other than a better draft pick, so this seems to be a tryout to see if the team will hang on to both signal callers going into next season.--Alex Fischbein - RotoBaller

3 months agoTennessee Titans quarterback Mason Rudolph will be on the bench to begin Week 18's contest against the Houston Texans. It has been reported that Will Levis will reclaim his role as starter, though Rudolph will still see some snaps at some point in the game. Since returning to action in Week 15, Rudolph has shown promise as a fantasy QB, throwing for five touchdowns and averaging 218 passing yards per game over that span. However, with his playing time up in the air for Sunday, it's hard to see him being a viable option for the final week of the fantasy football season.--Ricky Maloney - RotoBaller
