Mason Plumlee 2019 Player Outlook
5 years agoDenver Nuggets power forward/center Mason Plumlee is fresh off a summer with the USA Senior team that competed at the World Cup in China. Yes, the team was in need of players after many stars dropped out, but the fact that Plumlee was a target says something. Plumlee is a backup to arguably the best center in the game, but Plumlee brings a unique skill set to the two big-man positions. Plumlee posted an undervalued line last season with numbers of 7.8 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 0.9 blocks, and 0.8 steals while shooting an elite 59.3% from the floor. The numbers that really stick out and where his value is stored is his 3.0 assists a night (in just 21.1 minutes a night) and his more-than-solid defensive numbers. He may see fewer minutes at the four with the additions of Jerami Grant, a healthy but aging Paul Millsap and with the development of Michael Porter Jr. Either way, Plumlee is a must-own player in deeper leagues and if for any reason, Nikola Jokic misses time, he is a must-grab player in all formats.
