8 months agoKansas City Royals catcher Martin Maldonado should dress up for work every day. Maldonado came to the ballpark with a little extra flair for Father's Day as he outfitted his chest protector with a sewn-on tie. The snazzy accessory did the trick for him and the Royals as Maldonado went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI and runs scored, and the Royals snatched the final game away from the Twins. Maldonado has been pretty close to what he was expected to be before the season, which is a strong defensive presence who is below average offensively. He's not worthy of a roster spot in most leagues, but he gets regular playing time, which makes him valuable in those deep, two-catcher ones.--Billy Stonick - RotoBaller
