Martin Maldonado Exits With Forearm Tightness
6 years agoKansas City Royals catcher Martin Maldonado left Saturday's game with the Rangers in the bottom of the sixth inning due to tightness in his right forearm. No announcement was made after the game, so he should be considered day-to-day for now. Maldonado is in his first season with the Royals after signing a one-year deal when the team lost Salvador Perez for the season. He hasn't brought much to the offensive side of the game, but he is considered a decent defensive catcher. He was replaced by Cam Gallagher, a light-hitting and rarely used catcher who holds no fantasy value.
