Martin Jones Projected To Start Tuesday
12 months agoToronto Maple Leafs goaltender Martin Jones is the projected starting goaltender for Tuesday's game against the visiting New York Rangers. The veteran puck-stopper is coming off of a shutout in Saturday's 7-0 blowout of the Pittsburgh Penguins while he also picked up a win against this same Rangers team in his first start as a Maple Leaf last week in New York. He has put forth a tidy 1.85 goals-against average and a .949 save percentage in his first three appearances (two starts) in a Maple Leafs uniform. He joined the team as veteran depth in the offseason and has posted a 3.37 GAA and .870 Sv% across five games with the AHL's Toronto Marlies. With Joseph Woll injured and Ilya Samsonov continuing to struggle, Jones could see some increased playing time moving forward and makes for a solid streaming option despite a tough matchup on Tuesday.
