Marquise Brown Motivated To Lead Cardinals Offense
2 years agoArizona Cardinals wide receiver Marquise Brown is excited to prove the doubters wrong and show that he and the team aren't fazed by the loss of DeAndre Hopkins. At a press conference during organized team activities, Brown said, "I want to prove that I can be the guy. I want to prove that as an offense, as a team that we can be that team that we know we can be. I feel like everybody feels that way from coaches to players." Brown was "the guy" for the first six weeks of the 2022 season when Hopkins was suspended, and he did produce, averaging 7.2 receptions and 80.8 yards in the first third of the season before he hurt his foot and missed the next five games. When he returned, Hopkins was back to being the WR1, and quarterback Kyler Murray tore his ACL in Week 14, missing the rest of the season. With no Murray in the lineup, Brown averaged just 36 yards per game during the Cardinals' final four games of the season.
