5 years agoBaltimore Ravens wide receiver Marquise Brown (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 7 against the Seahawks. It's Brown's second straight missed game, and he should be considered questionable for Week 8 as well. In his absence last week, none of Willie Snead, rookie Miles Boykin and Seth Roberts really stood out in the passing game. None are very attractive DFS plays or flex options in this run-first offense. Tight end Mark Andrews should remain the biggest beneficiary with Brown out, and he's a strong TE1 play against Seattle.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

4 weeks agoAccording to NFL's Ian Rapoport, wide receiver Marquise Brown has re-signed with the Kansas City Chiefs. The one-year deal is worth up to $11 million. Brown spent 2024 with Kansas City but was hindered by a shoulder injury he sustained during the preseason. The 27-year-old would appear in just two regular season games with the team, combining for nine catches and 91 scoreless yards. He'd also compete in each of the Chiefs' three playoff contests, though he wouldn't match his brief regular season production. It's good news for KC, as the unknown surrounding fellow wideout Rashee Rice's recovery and potential legal fallout from a multi-vehicle accident last offseason is still up in the air. Additionally, it's unclear if Kansas City will bring back veteran WR DeAndre Hopkins, and second-year teammate Xavier Worthy could be subject to his own discipline after a recent domestic violence incident. Things are looking hairy for the Chiefs' pass-catchers, but Hollywood's presence should be an anchor in their wide receiver corps despite the other talent around him.--Alex Ciulla

1 month agoKansas City Chiefs general manager Brett Veach said on Tuesday at the NFL Combine that the team "will look to get Marquise Brown back." The Chiefs had big plans for Hollywood when they signed him last offseason, but the 27-year-old suffered a shoulder injury in the preseason that required surgery and caused him to miss 15 regular-season games. He eventually returned to play in two games at the tail end of the regular season and caught nine of 15 targets for 91 yards and no touchdowns as he got back up to speed. Brown added five catches on 13 targets for only 50 yards in three playoff games. Despite a disappointing 2024 campaign, the speedy wideout could be a prime bounce-back candidate in fantasy at a cheap cost if he returns to the Chiefs as a starter in three-wide sets with Xavier Worthy and Rashee Rice (knee).--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

2 months agoESPN's Jeremy Fowler writes that the Kansas City Chiefs want to keep impending free-agent wide receiver Marquise Brown in the fold going into the 2025 season. Hollywood should have a good market this offseason due to teams wanting speed options on the outside, even though he missed almost all of the 2024 season due to a shoulder injury suffered in the preseason. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes was a proponent of the team adding Brown last year and will likely do so again. However, the Chiefs could have competition from the Buffalo Bills, as sources say that quarterback Josh Allen has long wanted to play with Hollywood. Brown had nine catches on 15 targets for 91 yards in two regular-season games and has caught three of seven targets for 35 yards in two playoff games for KC. If he re-signs with the Chiefs, the combination of Brown and Rashee Rice would be busy with Mahomes.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

2 months agoKansas City Chiefs wide receiver Marquise Brown is an intriguing flyer for Sunday's meeting with the Buffalo Bills. The 27-year-old has seen his snap share elevate each week he's been active since working back from a preseason shoulder injury, building up to 34 (67%) in Kansas City's Divisional win over the Houston Texans. Though he got his most work on the field, Brown garnered just two targets and didn't record a catch. However, it's worth noting there were four other Chiefs pass-catchers to notch a target and nary a reception. Before his most recent goose egg, the Oklahoma product racked up at least four catches and 45 yards in his other two appearances, so he could see more work in a competitive game. Fortunately, he'll get just that, as this matchup brandishes a robust 48-point over/under with the Chiefs a slim 1.5-point home favorite.--Alex Ciulla
