Marlins Offer Tim Anderson A Starting Job
10 months agoThe Miami Marlins have offered free-agent shortstop Tim Anderson a contract to be their primary shortstop, according to a source. The 30-year-old has made all but two of his major-league starts at shortstop, but he played at second base in last year's World Baseball Classic. The two-time All-Star had a terrible .582 OPS with just one home run in 123 games for the Chicago White Sox last year, which has made his free-agent market almost non-existent this winter. It's looking more likely that Anderson is going to have to accept a one-year, prove-it deal to get his value back up heading into 2025, and Miami may be the place to do it. Currently, Jon Berti is Miami's projected starter at the 6 in 2024. Coming off his terrible 2023 campaign, Anderson is ranked as the No. 32 fantasy shortstop at RotoBaller.
