Marlins Call Up Emmanuel Ramirez
4 months agoThe Miami Marlins recalled rookie right-hander Emmanuel Ramirez from Triple-A Jacksonville on Thursday and placed reliever Anthony Bender (undisclosed) on the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move. Ramirez returns to the big-league pitching staff after being sent down to the farm just last week after he gave up seven runs (six earned) without recording an out in his last appearance for the Marlins on Aug. 8 against the Cincinnati Reds. The 30-year-old Dominican hurler is 0-1 in his first year in the majors with a 5.51 ERA (4.28 FIP), a 1.16 WHIP, 16 strikeouts and six walks in 16 1/3 innings out of the bullpen. Ramirez will be looking for better results for the Fish this time around. He's not on the fantasy radar at all in any league formats.
