Marcus Smart Explodes For 20 Second-Half Points
2 years agoBoston Celtics guard Marcus Smart played a key role in Monday's 126-122 win over OKC, leading a comeback charge with 20 second-half points. He finished with 22 points in total and bagged five rebounds and eight assists with one block and three turnovers in 29 minutes. Smart shot 8-for-12 from the field, including 1-for-2 from three-point range, and 5-for-6 at the line. The reigning Defensive Player of the Year has been focusing on playmaking lately, having gone for 10-plus assists four times in six games, but Boston needed to get some extra offense Monday night to erase a seven-point halftime deficit and Smart was able to provide it. He is averaging 11.4 points, 3.2 rebounds and 7.1 assists for the season with 1.1 steals. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect another offensive outburst from Smart soon, but he is always good for a nice amount of peripheral stats.
