Manny Machado Dealing With Hamstring Tightness
1 year agoSan Diego Padres third baseman Manny Machado (hamstring) remains in the starting lineup on Monday for the series finale against the division-rival Los Angeles Dodgers and right-hander Tony Gonsolin, but he's serving as the designated hitter for the second straight day while managing right-hamstring tightness. The 31-year-old All-Star tweaked his hammy running the bases in the eighth inning on Saturday, but the issue hasn't been serious enough to keep him out of the lineup entirely. Hopefully it's nothing that will get worse and cause him to miss any time down the stretch. Machado has been much better in the second half of the season and is currently hitting .257/.319/.462 with 21 homers, 65 RBI, three steals and 54 runs scored in 377 at-bats. Continue to start him on a daily basis in fantasy.
