Malaesala Aumavae-Laulu In Mix For Starting Guard Spot
1 year agoBaltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said rookie offensive lineman Malaesala Aumavae-Laulu is in the mix for the starting left-guard spot after the final day of mandatory minicamp last week. The sixth-rounder spent the week getting first-team repetitions, and he'll bring a physical and no-nonsense style that appeals to the coaching staff. For a 6-foot-6, 322-pound guard, he's also very athletic. The 24-year-old will not enter training camp at the end of July as the favorite to start at left guard in 2023, but he showed enough early promise during offseason workouts over the last month to at least be in the conversation. Aumavae-Laulu is a bit old for a rookie, but it could mean that he's ready to play sooner than later.
