Luis Urias Aiming For Opening Day
5 years agoMilwaukee Brewers infielder Luis Urias (wrist) said he wants "to be ready for Opening Day" and wasn't sporting a cast or brace on his surgically repaired left wrist at the team's spring clubhouse on Wednesday. The 22-year-old had surgery on Jan. 28 to fix a broken hamate bone in his left hand/wrist. The Brewers envisioned Urias taking over the shortstop job when they traded for him, but he'll now spend most of the spring rehabbing and is a question mark for the start of the regular season. Urias raked at Triple-A in the Padres organization but underwhelmed in limited at-bats at the major league level. He has a chance to be special in Milwaukee, but his injury makes him an afterthought in most mixed leagues to start the year. RotoBaller currently has him ranked just outside the top 300 players.
