Luis Severino Bitten By Home Run Bug
5 years agoNew York Yankees starter Luis Severino pitched 4 1/3 innings, allowing two runs, in the teams 4-1 loss to the Astros in Game 3 of the ALCS. Severino struck out six but allowed five hits, including a pair of solo home runs in the first two innings. When facing an opponent like Houston's starter Gerrit Cole, those two runs were enough to sink Severino's chances of winning. Severino was pulled after 97 pitches, walking three and failing to get deep into the game. The right-hander should be good for one more appearance if the series goes to six or seven games.
