Luis Gil Throws Bullpen Friday
2 years agoNew York Yankees right-hander Luis Gil (elbow) threw a bullpen session on Friday after having Tommy John surgery last May. It was Gil's first time throwing off a mound since having right-elbow reconstruction. The 24-year-old is slowly working his way back, and he could be an option for either New York's starting rotation or bullpen at some point in the second half of 2023. He allowed four runs on five hits while walking two and striking out five in his only start in 2022, and Gil has made just seven starts in his two seasons in the big leagues to this point. Fantasy managers shouldn't be expecting much from him the rest of this year, but he could be an option in deeper leagues if he joins the Yankees' rotation later on.
